RACING EXPERIENCE:

•    1990: Began racing Sprint Karts with the Central Florida Kart Club and the Florida Grand Prix series. Won first nine races that I ever entered en-route to claiming the novice championship.

•    1991 – 1992: Advanced to Yamaha light class, again winning over 60% of the races that Year, and defeating the late Tony Renna to claim the championship.

•    1993 – 1994: Raced a limited schedule due to family sickness. Won three races in three starts over the two-year period.

•    1995: Named team driver for RobinsonMotorSports. Won inaugural Spec Racer event entered and continued to win another five races that year, finishing third in the South Atlantic Road Racing Championships (SARRC).

•    1996: Advanced to the Spec Racer Ford (SRF) class, ran a limited schedule due to financial constraints. Won twice through the season and finished top 5 twice.

•    1997: Raced a limited schedule in Spec Racer Ford. Lead division points through part of the season, winning twice and finishing third in the SEDIV points.  Entered the Valvoline Runoffs and finished 19th with electrical problems. Tested a Toyota World Sports Racer with Duane Neyer Motorsports.

•    1998: Entered three races. I won the SARRC Invitational Challenge, and finished second in the SARRC points championship in Spec Racer Ford.

•    1999: Raced twice to keep license. In the only two races entered I finished first and second in SRF at Road America, a track I had never raced on before.

•    2000: Raced in the Spec Racer Ford Pro Series at the San Diego street circuit. Qualified 3rd and ran in 3rd until being crashed out at lap five.

•    2001: Won five races and set a new track record at Roebling Road, Georgia. Co-drove for RobinsonMotorSports, who became the first SRF team to win a 24hr race overall, winning the Longest Night at Moroso in 2001. Set race records for margin of victory (22 laps) and most laps completed.

•    2002: Competed first full season of racing since 1991, racing in the SCCA Spec Racer Ford Pro series.

➢    Finished in the top five twice, top ten in all but two races,
➢    Finished sixth in points
➢    Finished second in the Team Championships
➢    Voted most improved driver
➢    Raced in the Grand-Am Rolex series Daytona Finale in a Marcos Mantis in the GT category with Southpaw Racing. I was seventh fastest throughout the event but the Marcos suffered engine failure on the third lap of the race.


•    2003: Raced a limited schedule in Spec Racer Ford, winning twice. Co-drove for RobinsonMotorSports, overall winner in the Kuhmo 12hrs of Homestead a 1-2 team sweep. Became first driver to win a race in the new Formula Enterprises Van Diemen, setting fast lap in the process.

•    2004: Accepted a position with Southpaw racing as team driver in the Grand-Am Cup Series, driving a Mazda RX-8 in the ST class. Ran fourth at Mid Ohio but suffered many mechanical issues during the limited season resulting in a best finish of 9th at Homestead. Raced a limited schedule in Spec Racer Ford, dominating a rain soaked race at the Moroso National, winning by 30 seconds and lapping up to 17th place in the 52 car field. Co-Driver for RobinsonMotor Sports, finished second overall in a 1-2 team sweep in the Kuhmo 12 hrs of Homestead.

•    2005: Raced a half season in the Grand-Am cup series with Southpaw Racing, driving a Mazda RX-8 in ST. Consistently ran in or near the top five, but was only able to finish a best of 9th due to mechanical issues. Ran fastest lap of all RX-8’s at California Speedway but a pit penalty kept the team from a podium.

•    2006: Re-joined RMS to help develop the re-worked Formula Enterprises Van Diemen. Continued to race an SRF for RobinsonMotorSports, winning twice during the season and finishing 9th at the National Championship RunOffs. Raced in the Kumho 12hrs of Homestead, finishing 1st overall in one of the teams Spec racer Ford’s.

•    2007: Raced twice in the Formula Car Magazine series Formula Enterprise Championship, winning twice and setting the track record at Daytona. Raced in the F.C.M. season finale at the ARRC in Road Atlanta, winning by over four seconds to claim the National Championship. Also raced in Spec Racer Ford, winning four times during the season and finishing 6th at the national Championship RunOffs.

•    2008: Raced in Formula Enterprise.

➢    Broke 2 track records.
➢    5 pole positions
➢    Won 7 times during the National Season.
➢    Won the June Sprints.
➢    Won the inaugural FE National Championship RunOffs,
➢    Won the Chicago Region Triple Crown.
➢    Record to date in FE: 11 wins, 12 starts. 1 DNF (mech)


MECHANICAL EXPERIENCE:

  • 1994-2008: As the Team Manager and lead technician, Mark has been Mick’s right hand man at Robinson Motor Sports.  Handling everything from S.C.C.A. Spec Racer Ford and Formula SCCA customer service representative, to leading all prep and maintenance of  22 cars, racing at more than 35 events annually across the continental United States and Canada.
